Asante Gold Corporation is a gold exploration, development and operating company with a high-quality portfolio of projects and mines in Ghana. Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.

All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana’s Golden Triangle. Asante is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange, the Ghana Stock Exchange and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. We co-listed our shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange to allow a whole new group of Ghanaian investors the opportunity to invest in the growth of their own local gold mining industry.

Asante has an experienced and skilled team of mine finders, builders and operators, with extensive experience in Ghana. Our experienced team members are our most precious asset, having discovered, explored and developed more than 24Moz of gold resources and reserves in Ghana; and having managed Ghana’s largest underground mine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical data collection (mapping, logging and testing) in a timely and accurate manner, stored and displayed in relevant formats.
  • Undertake pit wall inspection and provide reports to Senior Geotechnical Engineer on any anomaly that requires detailed interpretation.
  • Gather all geotechnical information for pit wall design amendments that may be required with the assistance of the Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
  • Guide the Geotechnical Technicians in the pit wall mapping and interpretation of the data.
  • Ensure that test results are properly interpreted and stored in the geotechnical database.
  • Ensure adequate coverage of geotechnical monitoring equipment for the pit walls
  • Interpret the monitoring data and provide timely reports to Senior Geotechnical Engineer on instability
  • Supervise the Geotechnical Technician’s quality of work and ensure that the provisions of the Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in force.
  • Assess the ground water conditions in the pit walls and recommend slope dewatering technics
  • Ensure that all wall failures are captured, investigated, reported and learnings used for continuous improvement.
  • Inspect surface pits/underground geotechnical activities at start of shift to ensure correct procedures are being followed and all personnel are present.
  • Ensure compliance with established methodologies and quality standards related to mine operations while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches.
